Antarctic Small-Ship Expedition I
11 days - Dec-Mar - From US $ 4,890

Voyage aboard a modern and comfortable Russian research vessel to the bottom of the world, and experience all that Antarctica offers. The unique scenery of the White Continent includes multicolored icecaps, sparkling glaciers and towering snow capped mountains that all combine for unmatched photographic opportunities. This eleven day adventure will take you through the Drake Passage and into the circum-Antarctic upwelling zone where you may meet albatrosses of all kinds, cape pigeons, southern fulmars and a variety of petrels. The true sign of Antarctica will come as you near the South Shetland Islands and catch sight of an iceberg.

Deception Island, with its large colony of cape penguins and beautiful views, combines with the landscape of Cuverville Island, and its surrounding mountains, to form a picture of the unique beauty and splendor of the Antarctic Peninsula--complete with a large colony of gentoo penguins and breeding brown skuas. Before this awesome adventure ends, you will sail through Neumayer Channel, with its myriad icebergs and deep cut fjords, creating the chance to see large and beautiful whales. There will be time for zodiac cruises between the icebergs in the inner parts of the fjords and a walk on the continent, creating a wondrous experience and an unforgettable memory.
