RYA South Atlantic Crossing by Sailing Yacht

This 30-day adventure starts in Punta Arenas, where you will board the Pelagic Australis. After ensuring the ship is properly equipped for the journey, you will sail from Punta Arenas, through the various straits of South America, on to the Falkland Islands. From here, you will raise sails, and embark on a 4000 mile trip across the Atlantic Ocean to Cape Horn.
 
The focus of this adventure is for students to not only study the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) syllabus for the Yachtmaster Shore Based Course, but also to fully experience and grasp every aspect of what it takes to pilot and crew an ocean sailing vessel across the breadth of the Atlantic Ocean. The miles gained en route are over twice that required by the RYA for the license. 
 
Although this journey is about learning, do not overlook the picture perfect moments this adventure will afford you--blue sky, blue ocean, mountains shrouded in white clouds, lush green islands, and don’t forget about the unique animals that may be seen in the clear water, brillant sky, or on the beautiful land. When you land at Cape Horn, you will not only be well versed in the art of sailing, but will also have a memory you will never forget.
